It is worth establishing that a moral compass is an indispensable element in society. This is because it guides the members of the society to make judicious decisions when they are faced with a challenge. The chief of the matter is the moral compass guides individuals in decision making and acting accordingly (Pettit, 2014). When we exhibit inadequate knowledge of how to ground our identities and actions to ultimate values that transcend time and place, we confirm the chances of being morally adrift. This is because there are core values which guide our day to day lives, and the previous acts confirm their absence. The absence of a clear moral compass may exhibit a degree of immorality in the society, and thus efforts to enhance moral compass should be upheld as it supports morality and good being in the society. Furthermore, moral compass has been viewed as a fundamental element directly because it combines efforts with other social factors like religion to mold the members of the society (Pettit, 2014). In correlation, this essay is set to explore moral compass as a foundation for personal integrity, moral compass elements, and its vital importance in leadership upon which a personal reflection will be drawn in conclusion.

Personal Integrity Statement

Different schools of thoughts have come to the realization that social integrity is inseparable from the moral compass. This is because the good values supported by moral compass allow an individual to exercise personal integrity. In a broader perspective, the habit of playing fair, treating other people with decency and respect, and not forgetting the ability to communicate openly and honestly exhibit personal integrity (McGinniss, 2016). A society with integrity supports goodness and fairness in all undertakings. The ability to enhance the traits of personal integrity develop a unified society which is vitally important. Therefore, personal integrity comes from a moral compass.

Furthermore, social conscience is the internalized values that are rational in guiding a person towards exhibiting bad traits or rather good traits. Additional, social conscience is related to emotional feelings which control an individual towards taking a right or wrong action. So personal choices and behaviour transpire from social conscience. However, the moral compass is linked to the social conscience as it guides an individual in acting in various ways (McGinniss, 2016). Therefore, moral compass is a fundamental element which plays a crucial role in generating social conscience among individuals whose functions are instrumental in shaping the society. What happens is, social conscience reduces the chances of societal members drifting away from ethical norms.

Borrowing from the religious spectrum, it is worth establishing that moral compass as a foundation of personal integrity and social conscience is depicted as the ability to exhibit goodness at all times which is critical (Schalkwijk, 2016). The previous discovery was affiliated with vast implications and consequences for everyone. Furthermore, the fact that the religious people were supportive of the religion demands, they unquestionably accepted the dictates of religious authority, whether affecting them positively or negatively. In a broader perspective, it is worth establishing that the traditionalists are significant advocates of moral compass by their acts of portraying goodness and fairness in all their dealings, which is critical (Schalkwijk, 2016). Therefore, traditional wisdom is pivotal as moral compass can be drawn from it. The traditionalist unequivocally acted towards the societal, ethical norms without deviation, an aspect that cultivated their innate social conscience and personal integrity. The fact that traditionalist served alongside religious norms which demanded moral ethics adds value to my Wisdom Tradition, which is vitally essential.

Moral Compass Elements

Having learned that moral compass enhances good personal values and character in an individual, it is critical to embrace it. To begin with, my moral vision entails living a good life that will portray actions that are not meant to harm others. What it means is I foresee living a life full of personal integrity. I dream of a life full of goodness and fair dealings with the primary objective of enhancing unity and peaceful coexistence in the society. Besides, practicing personal integrity will be fundamental as I will act as a role model to the societal members who may be having inadequate knowledge of moral compass (Tom, 2017). Furthermore, the moral compass entails positive social conscience, which is vitally essential. I will utilize my inner emotions and feelings to act accordingly to the societal codes of conduct. In conclusion, my vision of a good life is having personal integrity in conjunction with a social conscience to enhance fair dealings and living an exemplary life.

It is important that moral vision is an integral component that supports personal integrity and social conscience in my life. My moral vision is anchored by various values that dictate how I behave or act towards certain life situations. The value of commitment guides me in meeting deadlines and arrangements, and it is vitally essential to report that it has maintained me in the lane of living towards moral life. Additionally, loyalty, open-mindedness, and honesty are pivotal values that have directed me towards living a good life free from unethical behaviors (Tom, 2017). The movie The Wolf of Wall Street have been instrumental in ensuring I live a morally upright lifestyle which is vital towards achieving my moral vision. Furthermore, it is critical to establish that the traditional elements of enhancing goodness at all time have been fundamental directly because it is my reference point each moment, I am about to undertake an action.

It is also critical to report that moral codes are important elements which guide individuals towards acting, behaving, or having some certain thoughts (Tom, 2017). In correlation, the moral codes have the potential of revealing if the action the individual is willing to partake is right or wrong. In a broader perspective, moral codes are fundamental enhancers of living a good life (Tom, 2017). In that connection, the principles that guide me to live a good life is being honest always no matter what the situation is. Besides, the principle of respecting people is vital as it enhances healthy relationships and support. Finally, I am guided by the principle of love, which has been pivotal in creating friendship with other societal members and hence living a life free from conflicts and misunderstandings. Besides, I can confirm that my moral code has been instrumental in ensuring I live towards achieving my moral vision directly because the moral codes have transformed my lifestyle to being honest, respectful and loving individual who is ready to support good actions that are not contributing to moral drift (Koleva, 2014). Nonetheless, the traditional wisdom of enhancing goodness has been in line with my moral codes where the two have collaborated to ensure I live a good life.

Moreover, I have taken the initiative of exhibiting moral fitness in a unique way, which entails cultivating my habits to ensure they meet my moral codes and vision in the long run. The chief of the matter is, I am always ready to accept failure to observe societal, ethical norms and values. In correlation, I have used the previous practices to cultivate my personal character and integrity by rectifying, where I fail to observe the latter aspects. Putting into consideration that my moral vision is to enhance personal integrity and social conscience, the practices of moral fitness have been critical in ensuring I do not deviate from the moral vision and codes.

The Wisdom Tradition has as well supported my moral fitness by ensuring I am always exhibiting goodness in all life situations. However, it is critical to report that living a morally upright life is problematic, especially when dealing with people who have no respect for one’s moral vision and moral code (Koleva, 2014). I have often had conflicting ideas with my peers on some issues, an aspect that has put my social conscience on the test, and those have been my defining moments. Although at some point I have been offended and disrespected I have upheld my moral principles and values that have guided my social conscience in not exhibiting a lousy act or response to my offenders (Koleva, 2014). Therefore, the challenges have been essential as they have strengthened my character and values. Furthermore, my Wisdom Tradition promotes goodness which means that I should respond wisely to any situations that may be offensive directly because taking actions without a rational approach may result to negativity whose impacts may be felt in a higher magnitude.

Moral Compass and Business leadership

As a future leader, I will support and use moral compass in my organizations because as we have discussed it has numerous benefits. I will also encourage other employees to develop a sense of personal integrity and social conscience as the factor that moral compass enhances that so. Additionally, I will ensure that I utilize my moral codes and moral vision in running the organization with the primary objective of enhancing fairness, openness, trust, and honesty. Finally, I will take my defining moments as essential aspects of strengthening my leadership.

To sum, I can confirm that moral compass is a fundamental aspect that needs to be exercised directly because it supports social conscience, personal integrity, and good life living, which is critical. In summary, I fully support the enhancement of the moral compass in a societal context.
